Borrowing a laptop: Home

How do I borrow a laptop?

The Library are moving to a new Library Management System and that is changing how we lend items for a short time. After the 6th July you will still be able to borrow laptops but the process will be a bit different. Between 9am and 5pm Monday to Friday, please come to the Library Help Desk on the 2nd floor of the Learning Hub. Make sure you have your student or staff ID card with you, and say you would like to borrow a laptop. The laptop loan remains the same, you can borrow a device for 6 hours which is the length of the charge. You can return it back to the same desk during the same times.

If you need to return the device after 5pm please return it to the Visitor’s centre, next to McColls shop. Make sure you get a receipt from the staff, confirming that you have returned it.

After 5pm on weekdays and at weekends, you can use the computer rooms on the 4th floor of the Learning Hub, the room numbers are LH401, LH402 and LH403.

We hope to go back to normal, where you can borrow laptops from the laptop cabinets, as soon as we can. You can check back at this page for when we go back to normal, or see the notices on any laptop cabinet.
