New library system update - key information, dates and actions for students: Home

What does the new system mean for me?

The library are happy to announce that new and improved NELSON is now ready! Your loans, returns and reservations can all be seen in one place, with a quick and easy log in. There is a video on the front page of NELSON you can watch and we have a written guide available for you too. On the surface, NELSON library search has not changed much, but under the bonnet, NELSON is now being powered by a different library system, which is able to deliver more for students and staff, including:

  • a single unified account with a single login for all library functions, which enables you to view your loans, reservations, requests, favourited items, alerts and search history, all in one place
  • the ability to place Inter-Library Loan requests, reservations and scan and deliver requests, all from within the NELSON interface, without the need to use other systems and forms
  • an integrated Reading List system called Leganto which is now live
