Library support for students studying at partner locations

How the Academic Librarians can support your studies

Planning a visit

If you are planning a visit to the University, you may find that it useful to spend some time in the Library. Library Resources can be found in the Learning Hub, at our new Waterside Campus. You can find our opening hours below.

What to bring

If you already have a UON student card, you will need to bring it with you. If you don't, you will need to report to the Visitor Centre in the first instance to gain access to the Learning Hub.

What can I borrow?

You will need a UON student card to borrow items from the Library. Please contact your home institution to arrange this, if you don't have one already.

Students are able to borrow up to 20 items as a time. You can check your loans, renewals and requests in NELSON. We have a guide available to help you log in.

Help in the library

You will find information points where you can get some general help from library staff. We sit on the 2nd floor enquiry desk during staffed hours.

If you think you will need specialist support from Academic Librarians or Learning Development tutors during your stay, it is advisable to book an appointment in advance to ensure that someone appropriate is available.
