There are a number of websites that provide statistics. The ones listed below can provide data on the economy, population and society on a national and local level. Hospital Episode Statistics specifically provides statistics on admitted patient, outpatient and accident and emergency records.


If you are looking for UK legislation in education, a good place to start would be the government website. 

Legislation is also available online via WestLaw and Lexis Library – the two main databases for law. Take a look at the Library support site for Law programmes  for further advice about searching for legal sources.

Lexis database – Lexis Library is an international database of case law and legislation. It also includes newspaper articles from major UK newspapers.
