NILE FAQs

Welcome

The Learning Technology Team provide advice, guidance, support, training and consultation on the use of technology to enhance learning. Our Learning Technologists, Learning Designers, Learning Support Analyst, and E-Learning/Multimedia Resources Developer provide support and assistance on using NILE, technology enabled learning, curriculum design and the development and production of technology enhanced learning materials.

NILE Compatibility Check

To check that your computer, operating system and browser are compatible with NILE please visit the Blackboard Browser Checker.

You can also view the list of supported browsers, and tested devices and operating systems.

For the most reliable NILE experience on Mac and PC, please use the latest version of the Chrome browser. Chrome is free to download and use from: https://www.google.com/chrome/


NILE Service Messages

Blackboard is operating normally. 

Collaborate is operating normally.

Edublogs is operating normally.

Kaltura is operating normally.

Padlet is operating normally.

PebblePad is operating normally, however, all PebblePad users are strongly advised to read the following PebblePad update from the Learning Technology Team.

Turnitin is operating normally. 

Xerte is operating normally. 


Live Status Updates

Live status updates are available for Blackboard and CollaborateKalturaPebblePad, and Turnitin.

Blackboard Learn Logo

Blackboard / NILE is accessed at https://nile.northampton.ac.uk

Log in using your usual University username and password.

Staff and students can also access Blackboard / NILE using the Blackboard Instructor App (for staff) and the Blackboard App (for students).

BoB Logo

Box of Broadcasts / Learning on Screen is accessed at: https://learningonscreen.ac.uk/ondemand

Search for 'University of Northampton (IDP)' and log in using your usual University username and password.

Edublogs Logo

Edublogs is accessed at https://mypad.northampton.ac.uk

Log in using your usual University username and password.

Kaltura Logo

Kaltura is integrated into NILE and is accessed at https://nile.northampton.ac.uk

Kaltura can also be accessed and used outside of the Blackboard Learn environment at https://video.northampton.ac.uk

Log in using your usual University username and password.

Staff and students can also access and use Kaltura using the KMS GO App. When setting up the app for the first time the URL you need to enter is: northampton.mediaspace.kaltura.com

LinkedIn Learning Logo

LinkedIn Learning is accessed at https://linkedin.com/learning

Information about how to log in to LinkedIn Learning is available on the University's LinkedIn Learning for Students page. Once you have set up your account you can also access and use LinkedIn Learning via the LinkedIn Learning Mobile App.

Padlet Logo

Padlet is accessed at https://uon1.padlet.org

Click 'Log in with Microsoft' and log in using your  University of Northampton email address (the one ending @northampton.ac.uk for staff, or @my.northampton.ac.uk for students) and your usual password.

PebblePad Logo

PebblePad is accessed at https://v3.pebblepad.co.uk/login/northampton 

Users with PebblePad accounts should log in using their PebblePad username and password.
