Procedures and Guidance

Who can issue health and safety guidance?

Health and Safety Procedures can be developed and introduced by faculties or departments for activities and staff within their control. These procedures should be consistent with relevant University health and safety policy and guidance where this is appropriate to the topic.

It is recommended that where faculty or departmental specific health and safety procedures are proposed, the draft procedure is presented to the relevant faculty or department health and safety committee so they can be formally agreed and the decision is documented in the Committee minutes.
