Select 'Gradebook' to view items that require grading.
Click on the discussion title to view the student's work.
In the 'Marks & Participation' window click on the students name to review their posts, or enter a numeric grade directly in the mark box.
Once posted students will see their grades in the Discussion board entry. If Mark using 'Undergrad letter' was selected the students will see a letter grade in their 'Grade Book'.
You can contact non-submitters to a Discussion (but not a Journal).
Follow these steps to contact non submitters.
1. Click the '...' menu to the right of the discussion title and select Student Activity.
2. In the Student Activity window, select the mail icon within the area Students who haven't participated.
If more than one student is emailed each student will receive an individual message - and will not be made aware of the names of the other nonsubmitters.
Your correspondence will be saved in the Messages area of your course site.
To contact students who have not submitted to a Journal you will need to contact them manually using the course Messages tool.
To assist in this process you may wish to download the grades for your graded Journal from the Grade book as a .CSV file and open this file in Excel to view a list of students who have not submitted.
