Additional information

A test header to improve the student's testing experience has :
1.) a progress bar,
2.) the number of answered questions out of the total questions in the test or assignment,
3.) time remaining if the instructor has set a time limit.

The header is sticky, meaning that it is always visible as a student navigates the test.

Accommodations includes the option for Staff to set the percentage of extra time for those students who need more time to complete a timed assessment.
When adding a time limit accommodation, faculty may specify any percentage of extra time that is needed to honour a time limit accommodation. This change provides greater flexibility to the instructor supporting both the students’ needs and the instructor’s assessment strategy.

About assessment exceptions
When special circumstances arise, you can give an individual student an exception on a specific test or assignment. An exception includes additional attempts or extended access, even if the assessment is hidden from other students. You can extend access with the show on and hide after dates which is different from the due date.
You need to set conditional availability—show on and hide after dates—before you set an individual exception for extended access.
An exception overrides the two settings applied to everyone else for only that specific assessment. Students don't see the exceptions you've added.
You set test and assignment exceptions from the assessment's Submissions page or an individual submission. You might use exceptions for students who have internet issues, disabilities, or technology and language differences.

Exceptions vs. accommodations
Exceptions are different from accommodations you set in the course roster. An accommodation applies to all due dates or time limits in your course for an individual student. Exceptions aren't allowed for due dates and time limits for an individual student or group at this time. Exceptions are only allowed for the show on and hide after dates and additional attempts.

When setting up tests in Ultra courses Staff will be able to select :
1.    Prohibit late submissions
2.    Prohibit new attempts after due date

Selecting 'prohibit late submissions' enforces a hard deadline and prevents students from making a late submission. In-progress and saved attempts will auto-submit at the due date, and students will receive a submission receipt via email. Specified accommodations are still respected.

Selecting 'prohibit new attempts after due date' prevents students from beginning a new attempt after the due date.

Partial Credit for Fill In the Blank Questions

Instructors who wish to grade student attempts at a more granular level can do so by going into the Scoring options and select  Allow partial credit
It will benefit students based on their associated effort on complex questions, and provide them with a more accurate representation of their proficiency.

If an instructor enables the due date and/or time limit, students will see these details, as they will appear in the Details & Information section for the assessment.

Question Banks, Pools and Reusing questions

You can Import a 'Pool' from Blackboard Original courses. Now called a Bank (imported via a ZIP file) and any of the old formats not in Ultra disappear, once they are moved over,  they are locked! So to use any of the questions you have to copy them into an assessment. You can reuse questions as Pools which are a block of questions which you can add to and subtract from, only after copying into an assessment, Essentially you have to copy questions into assessments before you can do anything with them.
