Office for National Statistics

The Office for National Statistics is the UK’s largest independent producer of official statistics and its recognised national statistical institute. They are responsible for collecting and publishing statistics related to the economy, population and society at national, regional and local levels. They also conduct the census in England and Wales every 10 years.

British Geological Survey

The British Geological Survey is a world-leading geological survey and global geoscience organisation, focused on public-good science for government and research to understand earth and environmental processes. It provides objective and authoritative geoscientific data, information and knowledge to help society to use its natural resources responsibly, manage environmental change and be resilient to environmental hazards.

UK Water Resources Portal

The UK Water Resources Portal is an interactive tool to monitor the UK hydrological situation in (near) real-time at a range of spatial scales. The portal brings together rainfall, river flow, soil moisture and groundwater level data in one place, and showcases the use of live river flow data from the  Environment Agency and the Scottish Environmental Protection Agency as well as COSMOS-UK soil moisture data.

Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change

The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) is the United Nations body for assessing the science related to climate change.

NASA Visible Earth

NASA's Visible Earth offers remarkable collections of satellite images, visualisations and animations relating to atmospheric phenomena, land cover changes, oceanography and other Earth-related topics. Most images published in Visible Earth are freely available for re-publication or re-use, except for where copyright is indicated.
