Creating a Reading List

The reading list system provides:

  • An intuitive system for academic staff to create reading lists
  • The ability for academics to easily place item and digitisation requests from within the reading list
  • The abilty to access and use NELSON pinned favourites directly from the reading list
  • Use item user metrics (aggregated), accessible to academic staff for their own module list.

Create a reading list

You need to log in to create your reading list and enter your University Login details.

The first time you log in follow the instructions to add the Cite It! tool as this will be helpful later.

Click on the Settings cog and select Cite it! to display instructions.

Select the Create list button to create a list.

Click on the create list icon to start creating a reading list

Give your list a name in the format of Module code and name and add a list description.

Click on Link to module and add the module code you wish to link to. Click Next.

Note: You can create a list without associating the list to a course. If needed, you can associate the list at a later point. Click Link to module which appears at the top of the page. Use the search field to locate the appropriate module.
