The following sessions take place on campus and last between 45 and 60 minutes. They are for a maximum of 20 pupils at a time and are subject to staff and room availability. Please note that we are unable to provide sessions in August, September, October and November.

This session outlines different exam revision techniques and discusses which methods are most effective.

This interactive session is designed to provoke thought around the academic skills required to be successful at university. The tutor will set a series of group tasks that will incorporate discussing skills and ranking the order of importance.
Year groups: This session is designed for year 12 or 13 pupils who are looking to apply or have already applied to a university.
This session is designed to promote an understanding of the skills that make a good presentation at university. It will consider non-verbal communication, structuring information, listening skills and improvisation. There will be an opportunity to plan and deliver a short presentation.

This session is an interactive showcase of the type of work that can be done with statistics.

This session teaches pupils to critically evaluate a range of sources and assists them in building critical arguments.

This session encourages pupils to consider the stages involved in writing an academic assignment.
Year groups: 12 and 13.
This session examines barriers and preconceptions around academic reading and develops strategies and techniques for making reading active. The tutor will prompt pupils to explore their own reading habits and then guide them through the process of reading a journal article through a series of interactive activities.
