Get It For Me

Free service for UON staff and students to request items not in stock or scans from print stock. For non-commercial research or private study only.

What can I request?

All requests should be for academic material that relates to your field of study or research, for the purposes of non-commercial research or private study.

Requests can be made for:

  • print or electronic books, book chapters (one per book) or journal articles (one per issue) that are not held in library stock.

  • a scan of a book chapter from print books already in our library collection.

We cannot supply any form of media such as CDs, DVDs or streamed content.

How many requests can I make?

There are no limits on the number of requests you can make.

How much does it cost?

UON does not charge you for this service. The costs are currently covered by the library. However, if a print book has been issued to you, please take care of the item. You are responsible for paying any costs if the book is lost or damaged.

How long will it take?

In all instances we aim to supply the requested item as soon as we can, but this is dependent on availability and cost. Occasionally there may be unforeseen delays in delivery, so it is not possible to guarantee a delivery date.

Average delivery times:

  • Articles and book chapters: 2-4 days

  • Print book loan from another library: 1-2 weeks

  • Purchased e-book: 1-2 weeks
