Library Support for Students

Students & Staff

• There is no limit on the number of e-resources you can use
• Borrow up to 20 items (books, health kits, a laptop, and up to 10 School Experience items)
• Education students can borrow an extra 10 School Experience items
• Foundation Level Teacher Training students: 20 items max.

Most items can be renewed up to 15 times unless requested by another user.

• School Experience items:
  • Standard students – 1 week loan, renewable twice
  • Education students – 1 term loan (12 weeks), renewable twice

Laptops can be borrowed for up to 6 hours with no renewals.

• Log in to NELSON before searching

• Search for your book and click the title to view details

• If all copies are on loan, select Reserve

• If a copy is on the shelf, you’ll need to collect it yourself

• If an ebook is available, you’ll see it under Available Online and can access it straight away.

If you cannot find the book you need for your academic studies or research, and you're a University of Northampton student or member of staff, simply request it and if budgets allow, we'll buy a copy for the library.
