Submit video or audio for assessment

Important

The University of Northampton recommends that all video and audio recordings for assessment, whether using Kaltura Capture, PowerPoint or a mobile device, are first uploaded to the MediaSpace video server before submission in NILE. Video or audio can either be uploaded at mymedia.northampton.ac.uk or by using Add New in the Kaltura plug-in for NILE, which is explained in this guide. We do not support attaching or uploading video or audio recordings directly into your NILE assessment point.

TIP: Select this link Submitting Video or Audio for Assessment for a quick video guide to submitting video.

Open the Assessment and submission Learning Module.

Select the assignment title.

Select the View assessment option.

Select the Text editor.

Select the Insert Content icon.

Select Content Market from the drop-down menu.

Select the Kaltura Add / Embed Media tile from the Institution Tools section.

Select Search My Media to find the Capture video which has been uploaded to your personal video library.

Select Embed to choose your recording and begin the submission process.

NOTE: If you have used PowerPoint or your mobile to create your recording, you can also use Add New to upload your file.

IMPORTANT: Do not upload your recording directly into NILE as this method is not supported by the Learning Technology team.

Select Add New and then select Media Upload to drag & drop or upload your recording for submission.

The MediaSpace LTI plug-in for Blackboard Ultra will allow you to upload all common video and audio formats.

Once you have selected Embed you will begin the steps to submit your recording for assessment.

It is essential you follow these steps or your submission will not be complete.

Amend the Display Name of the video or audio in the Insert Content Market item pop-out.

Select the Insert option.

Your recording has now been embedded in the text editor ready for submission.

Select Submit to begin the submission process.

Select Submit from the Submit Assignment pop-out to confirm you want to continue to submit this recording for assessment.

The Your Submission was successful pop-out confirms you have completed a submission Attempt.

You can check your email for a confirmation of your submission and to review your attempt.

You can select Close to exit this pop-out confirmation screen.

You can select Submission if you wish to review your submission Attempt.

Select Start Attempt to make an additional submission.

If you wish to review a previous attempt, select Submissions then choose an Attempt.

You can select an Attempt if you want to check your submission or playback your video to verify it is the correct version for submission.

If this is not the correct recording or if you have not correctly embedded the recording, you can exit this screen and make another submission attempt, provided your module tutor has allowed you to make multiple attempts.
