Adding items to your Reading List

Adding items from NELSON Favourites

The quickest and most efficient method of adding multiple items to your reading list, is to search for them in NELSON and use the pin feature to add them to My Favourites. From My Favourites select the items you want to add to your reading list by ticking the relevant checkboxes.

Select pinned items from NELSON 'favourites' by ticking on the relevant checkboxes

Click on the three dots menu (ellipsis) and select Reading List. 

A pop up box will appear, select Add to Bookmarks and click Add to Reading List.

Click on the tree dot menu found above the selected items and select the first option, Reading List. Select the bookmarks option then click add to reading list

The items will now appear when selecting Add from My Bookmarks in the reading list. Drag and drop the items to where you would like them.

Adding items using Search NELSON

If you do not wish to 'favourite' items in NELSON first (for example, if you are only looking for one or two items) use the Search NELSON option.

Click on the +Add button. Select Search NELSON from the list of options.

Limit your search to either ‘Search Everything’, ‘Books and more’, ‘Journal articles and book chapters’, 'School Experience' or ALMA.

Select the Filter list option to filter results by Type and Availability. Click Apply to save the filters.

There may be several results for the same title, ensure you select the record you wish your students to see.  

Drag and drop the item directly into your list OR select a section of your list from the drop-down menu and click Add or Add & Edit if you wish to check the item details. Click Item actions to add a public note and relevant tag.

Note: Don't forget to add any notes and tags to your items and publish your list when complete.
