The Library provides access to a wealth of print and digital resources for modules taught across the University. These resources are continually reviewed and replenished.
You're automatically a member of the University library. Your Staff ID card is also your library card. This means that you can come into the Learning Hub and browse and borrow books from our collection. It also means that you can use the ebooks and ejournals on NELSON.
NELSON is the University's discovery tool and is the place to start looking for resources.
Learn more about NELSON:
We help you navigate and make the most of the library resources. Meet the team.
We offer a variety of databases to support your learning, teaching, and research needs. Our collection of databases have videos, journal articles, and eBooks. Use the ‘Subject’ filter at the top of the page to find databases relevant to your area of study. Check out our ‘Best bets!’ for key databases to kickstart your research.
We have created subject guides to help you explore the resources.
Items for the library collection
To recommend a book for the library collection, or request materials to support your programmes and modules directly, please send requests to readinglists@northampton.ac.uk. Alternatively, add the book titles to your online reading list and publish the list for review by the Reading List team.
Items for personal research
To request a book, book chapter or article for your own personal research, which is not held in the library, please use our Inter-Library Loan service.
To obtain a digitised book chapter or article for your own personal research, which we own in print, please request via our Scan and Deliver service.
Digitisation requests
The Digitisation Team can create legal digital copies of resource extracts to support your programmes and modules, complete the digitisation request within your module reading list.
