Inter-Library Loans

How to make a request

Inter-Library Loan update

Due to a cyber-attack at the British Library we are currently unable to request Inter-Library Loans (ILL)  from them. We will try our best to obtain ILL requests from other sources, however the technology outage at the British Library may prevent us from being able to complete some requests. At present there is no further information on when the issue will be resolved. The Inter-Library Loan Team will contact you via email if there are any problems with your request.

More information can be found at the British Library's Knowledge Matters blog

Inter-Library Loans

The Inter-Library Loan (ILL) service aims to provide you with resources to support you in your academic studies or research, that are not available in the University of Northampton’s library collection. If you are unable to find what you need in our print stock or via NELSON, you can apply to our ILL service to source the material for you. These items will be obtained from other organisations or purchased for library stock. These requests must be for private study or research that is not for a commercial purpose.

Items that are held in library stock, but are out on loan, can be reserved by going to the Get It section of the item on NELSON and clicking on Reserve. Book chapters and articles in print stock can be requested using Scan and Deliver. These items should not be requested via ILL.
