RefWorks

A guide to using the RefWorks reference management software.

Exporting from Google Books

Google Books is a service that allows users to search the full text of books. Google Books allows an indirect export of individual references to RefWorks.

Exporting individual references

1. Find the book you want to export using the Google Books search bar

2. Once you have found the book click the quotation mark icon (labelled 'Crete Citation') on the book's summary page

3. A new tab will appear, click the 'RefMan' option listed under 'Other formats'

5. This will download your references as an .RIS file. Follow the instructions for importing an .RIS file

When to use this option

Exporting from Google Books should be used for books or ebooks that you cannot find using NELSON, for example books that you have used from another library or found yourself online.
